The Bank of Erath was organized in August of 1910. The names of its founders are familiar to the present day residents of Vermilion Parish: Moresi, Caldwell, Broussard and LeBlanc. The Erath branch opened for business on November 18, 1910, followed by a Delcambre branch on October 22, 1962 and an Abbeville branch on May 5, 1986.

The bank’s president is Paul G. Moresi, Jr., who is the grandson of Damas Moresi, one of the bank’s founders.

The board members are Paul G. Moresi, Jr., Beth B. Melebeck, James M. Segura, III,
Dr. Howard Alleman, Donald W. Guidry, Stephen C. Griffin and Vernon L. Caldwell III.

When the Bank of Erath opened its doors for business on November 18, 1910 the total assets were $14,639.13. These assets have grown to over $70,000,000.00 today.

The bank and all of its offices are full service banks. Bank of Erath has a reputation of being the “friendly hometown bank”. Its full service lobby hours in Erath, Abbeville and Delcambre are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Friday afternoon 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The drive-up hours are Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The bank presently has approximately 30 employees who are happy to serve the needs of our customers in the community.
